Trade with Australia
Questioned yesterday about the reported statement by the Australian High Commissioner (Mr A. R. Cutler) Si? a f. rival in Sydney this week that the time was overdue for a new trade agreement between Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Trade Commissioner (Major-Cfeneral J. J. Murray) said he had received no instructions from his Government, and no request from the New Zealand Government. Personally, however, he thought that because of Australia’s extensive expansion in the last 15 years trade talks and the closest Aus-tralian-New Zealand Government cooperation were more than ever necessary.—(P.A)
