MATERNITY LEAVE WITHOUT LOSS OF SICK PAY “The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, December 11. Provision for sick leave for women in the Public Service has been extended to enable married women to have six months off duty for the birth of a child, without loss of sick leave pay to which they may be entitled. This provision had been made as an encouragement to married women to remain-m the Public Service. A letter recommending the adoption of a remit in favour of two weeks’ paternity Jenye on full pay for fathers on the birth of a child was received at a meeting of the Wellington Section Committee of the New Zealand Public borvice Association. No action was taken.
