CANTERBURY WINS RIFLE SHOOTING (P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 27. Otago’s overwhelming Association football win against Canterbury by 15 goals tu 0 was a feature of to-day’s matches in the New Zealand University’s winter tournament. In the qualifying rounds for the golf championship, J. D. Nash (Victoria) led the field with good scores of 74 and 75 on the Hutt Club’s course. C. W. Caldwell (Canterbury) was next, with an aggregate of 160. Canterbury won the miniature rifle shocting with an aggregate of 766 out of a possible 800. Placings for Victoria and Auckland have yet to be determined. Otago’s aggregate was 746.
