OBITUARY

MRS G. BARNARD

The death occurred recently of Mrs Grace Murray Barnard, a well-known resident of Papanui. Mrs Barnard, who was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs David Douglas, was born in Papanui 78 years ago, and lived there throughout her life. She will be remembered by many for hep service to the sick, especially during the influenza epidemic of 1918. In her younger days she was for many years a member of the Papanui School Committee, the Red Cross Society, and the horticultural society. She was a staunch member of St. Giles’ Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Scottish Society. Mrs Barnard is survived by four sons and one daughter. Her husband died 24 years ago.
