NANKING GOVERNMENT’S

CONCERN NANKING, July 24. The Chinese Foreign Office to-day handed the Charge d’Affaires at the Netherlands Embassy in Nanking a memorandum expressing China’s official regret at the outbreak of Indonesian hostilities and its “grave concern” over the safety of Chinese nationals there. The memorandum asked what measures were being taken by the Netherlands Government to safeguard Chinese lives and property in the battle areas.
