LABOUR REPRESENTATION COMMITTEE
KEEN ELECTION BALLOTS The election of officers of the North Canterbury Labour Representation Committee has created keen interest among members of the Labour Party this year. The ballots will be conducted at the annua] meeting of the committee next week. The present president. Mr John Roberts. is being opposed by Mr George Manning, and for the position of vicepresident. held by Mr F. L Langley there are three nominations. For the committee of five. 26 nominations have been received. As the preferential voting system will be used at the ballot the results are not likely to be announced until the day following the annua] meeting. Mr A. G. Williams has been reelected secretary unopposed. The auditors (Messrs E. Parlane and F. Kelso) and the trustees (Messrs J. Butternela and G. Manning) have also oeen re-elected.
