Death Roll 192 Since March 5
MOB ATTACKS RESIDENTS AT RAWALPINDI

It is officially announced that casualties in the Punjab disturbances from March 5 to last night total 192 killed and 580 injured. Af Multan 90 were killed an/1 115 injured, at Lahore 35 and 160, at Rawalpindi 27 and 175, at Amritsar 27 and 100, at Jullunder 13 and 30. More dead have still to be recovered from the fire ruins in Multan. “A mob of raiders from the rural areas entered Rawalpindi during curfew last night and attacked residents in some areas,” says Reuter’s Lahore correspondent. “The residents resisted and a pitched battle ensued in which the raiders were driven to the city’s outskirts, where they are reported to be still hovering. Fire is raging at Rawalpindi after the mob’s raid. “Communal rioting has spread to Murree, where most of the bungalows are reported to have been destroyed, Lahore had a quiet night”
The correspondent says that a spokesman described the situation in Rawalpindi, raiders attacked the residents, as most anxious. Rioting has broken out in the eity and in villages between Rawalpindi and Murree.
