FRENCH RETENTION OF SHARES
GOVERNMENTS INITIAL DRAFT AGREEMENT (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, March 8. French and Norwegian Government representatives have initialled a draft agreement about the ownership and control of “Norsk Hydro,” which is Europe’s most important plant for the Sroductjon of heavy water, says Reu»r’s Oslo correspondent. France had contested the Norwegian Government’s right to confiscate 75,000 French shares in the undertaking, which the Germans confiscated during the occupation of Norway. Norway under the new agreement retains 52.2 per cent, of the shares,' with the Government holding 44.4 per cent.
