SECOND-CLASS MAIL LOST

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 9. About 1001 b of newspaper and parcel mails addressed to service personnel care of N.ZA.P.O. 381 (Fiji) were lost on February 22, when three bag! of second-class mail had to be jettisoned from an aircraft. In making this statement to-day; the Postmaster-General (Mr F. Hackett) said that the mails lost comprised postings from all parts of New Zealand received in Auckland between noon on February 17 and approximately 4 P-®* on February 21.
