MEMBERS OF LEFTIST PARTY (Rec. 7 p.m.) ASUNCION, March 8. An armed group of civilians seized the police headquarters in what the Government says was an attempt to start a revolution, but they were dislodged after heavy gunfire, and arrested. The insurgents are reported to be members of the Leftist Febrerista Party. ' • The Government has announced that it has received messages of support from the armed forces and that “peace reigns in all parts of the republic.” —' Paraguay has been under a state of siege since January 13, when the President ousted Febrerista Party members from the Cabinet, following the discovery of a plot to overthrow the regime.
