AMERICAN AIRLINE DISPUTE
♦ PAY INCREASES FOR PILOTS (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) CHICAGO, January 22. The arbitrators have announced j their award in the Trans-World Airline dispute, providing that pay for first pilots on overseas routes will be increased by 100 dollars a month and for co-pilots by 60 dollars. Domestic pilots will receive an increase of 60 dollars and co-pilots 40 dollars. The rates will now range from 925 to 1100 dollars a month for overseas first pilots and 290 to 520 dollars for, co-pilots, both according to length of service. Domestic rates will be slightly lower. All Trans-World Airline aircraft were grounded fof 25 days by the strike, which ended on November 15, when both sides agreed to accept arbitration.
