TURBINE LINER FOR NEW POWER WORKS.—A steel liner, 17ft in diameter, which has been made at Lyttelton for one of the three turbines at the new Karapiro hydro-electric power station. Construction of the Karapiro dam, on the Waikato river about five miles south of Cambridge, is nearly completed, and the new power station will be opened in the near future.
