NON-UNION WORKERS ON WHARVES

CLAIM FOR HOLIDAY PAY (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 22. A claim for statutory holiday pay will be made by non-union waterside workers in Auckland who confine themselves entirely to wharf labour. A petition circulating in the port requests payment for nine recognised statutory holidays on the waterfront under conditions which apply to members of the union. The petition will be forwarded to the Waterfront Industry Commission.
