YESTERDAY IN THE HOUSE
(From Our ParUamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, September 19. Highway finance was the main subject discussed by the House of Representatives to-day. The Finance Bill was read a second time, and a start was made on the second reading of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Bill, but the House did not make as rapid progress as it did on the first two days of this week. Estimates will be taken to-morrow.
