CHILD DROWNED IN COBDEN LAGOON Raymond Geoffrey Friend, aged four years and a half son of Mr and Mrs Norman Friend, Sturge street. Cobden was drowned in the Cobden lagoon late yesterday afternoon. It is reported that he was playing with another child, and when he did not return home a search was made. CYCLIST INJURED

While cycling in Gloucester street about 11.15 p.m. yesterday, Leslie Cox. aged 25, of 154 Lincoln road, collided with another cyclist. He suffered concussion and brasiorts to the face, and was admitted to .the Christchurch Public Hospital, where his condition was reported to be satisfactory.
