VICE-REGAL (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 31. At Government House this morning his Excellency the Governor-General received Mr M. F. Vigeveno, the retiring Consul of the Netherlands, and Jorikheer W. E. van Panhuys, the new Netherlands Consul-General. Her Excellency Lady Newall visited firl guide headquarters at Hastings this morning. This afternoon her Excellency, accompanied by N. Walton, returned to Wellington. Mr E. J. Smith, who has been a member of the staff of D.I.C. for 28 years, was, on the eve of his retirement yesterday, entertained at morning tea by the management and .executive staff of the firm, for whom Mr L. G. Campbell {display manager) presented him with ah" occasional table.
