Pam Parkinson won the senior championship, with 13} points; Joan Fox the junior championship, with 20 points; Sally Murray, the lower school -championship, with 20 points. ST. MARGARET'S COLLEGE ■ Four records were broken ' and two equalled at the St. Margaret's College athletic .sports, held recently. In the senior championship events, the 80 yards hurdles race was run by B. Scott in I2sec, and in the junior championship events the 65 yards hurdles was run by M. Jarvis in 10 2-ssec, both these times being equal to previous records. A record in the 150 vards junior championship event was broken by I. Buckeridge, whose time was 19sec. In the open non-cham-pionship events, B. Scott made a record by completing the 65 yards hurdles event in lOsec, and J. Stephenson, whose time for the 100 yards under 16 event was 12 l-ssec, also made a record. The fourth record was made by C. Murchison in the 65 yards hurdles under 16 event, her time being lOsec. Squire 1, P, Mackle-2, W\ Mac Donald 3. - SECONDARY SCHOOLS' SPORTS TO-DAY'S MEETING The annual athletic competitions between the Christchurch secondary schools, to be held on the St. Andrew's College grounds this afternoon, should provide high-grade racing, for the standard of athletics shown by the pupils of the different schools has been exceptionally, high Boys' High School and.St. Andrew's College held their meetings in the-first term of the year, when exceptionally fast times were registered, and in recent weeks Christ's College, St. Bede's College, Technical College, and Christchurch West High School have all produced athletes of outstanding ability. The programme comprises 23 events, divided , into junior, intermediate, and open grades, and each school is entitled to two representaitves in each. This ensures tha,t only the champions in their, respective grades will compete against one another. The first meeting was held in 1922, when only senior and junior grades were- contested, and these were won by Christ's College and Technical College respectively. Christ's College fenjoyed a great run of success, and with the exception of the year 1937, when St. Andrew's College won, they held an unbeaten record until 1941, when Boys' High School took the honours, which they have held in . the four succeeding years. The competing teams to-day are Boys' High School. Christ's College, St. Andrew's College, St. Bede's College, Technical College, and Christchurch West High School.
