CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED
The Christchurch harrier clubs held their championship runs on Saturday, in chilly weather and on sodden, difficult country. The trail was laid by E. A. Sayers and L. E..Fox over the old Canterbury championship coursp in the Cashmere district. J. Clarke, in winning the senior championship of the Christchurch Club, registered the good time of 34mln 42 2-ssec for the six miles and a half, while F. Mair took 37min in win the Baptist Club title. Telfer, J.P., William John Graham Lee, a labourer, aged 20 years, was remanded to appear on July 26 on a charge of breaking and entering the shop' of Margaret Alice Alsop on July 4. Assisting Members of S.S.—The Berlin radio says that a military court at Linz sentenced an Austrian doctor to two years’ imprisonment for removing tattoo identification marks from the bodies of four members of the S.S.— London, July 22.
