THANKSGIVING SERVICE AT NEW BRIGHTON

About 300 persons attended a service of thanksgiving for Allied victories in the New Brighton Methodist Church. THe service was conducted by the Rev. E. E. Sage. Music for hymns was played by Derry’s Band, conducted by Mr F. Turner. The lesson was read by the president of the New Brighton Returned ' Services’ Association (Mr *T. Newman). Jackson’s Te Deum was sung by the choir, conducted by thfe Rev. R. Richards, and Miss L. Newman sang a solo. , . „ Organisations represented in,the congregation included the Returned Services’ Association, the St. John. Ambulance Brigade, and Women’s Nursing Division, the Sea Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, and the Boys’ Brigade.
