CHILDREN’S HOLIDAY CENTRE

ORGANISATION AT LINWOOD AVENUE SCHOOL The children's holiday centre, .organised for the first time ,last year, by .the Linwood Ministers’ Fraternal, was again held last week at the Linwood Avenue School, In spite of some disorganisation caused by the victory celebrations, there was an average attendance of about 220 children. The daily programme consisted of religious instruction and organised games, the children being graded according to their school standard. The period devoted to the screening of educational and humorous talkie films was very popular. Plays based on incidents in the life of Christ were presented in costume by children from the various Sunday schools represented. Opportunity was taken to make a presentation on behalf of the Ministers’ Fraternal to the Rev. C. S. Knight, who is leaving Linwood, The president (the Rev. H. W. Payne) expressed appreciation of Mr Knight’s work in the district. •
