INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE
BRITISH EXPERT TO ADVISE GOVERNMENT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 19. The Minister of Health (the Hon. AH. Nordmeyer) announced to-day tha* Dr. J. M. Davidson, an officer of th® Ministry of Labour, England, had arrived in the Dominion to take up duty for a period of about a year as industrial hygienist. Dr. Davidson, whose services hav® been lent to the New Zealand Government, will undertake a survey of industry in New Zealand, investigate the nature and extent of industrial hazards, and advise on measures for their prevention, and will act as adviser m industrial hygiene to both the. Labour and Health Departments during hi® stay here. He will advise the Government on the organisation generally ot the division of industrial hygiene, to be attached to the Department M Health. Dr. Davidson has for some year! been a medical inspector of factories in England, and was selected for his outstanding knowledge and experience for the duties he will be called upon to undertake. During his work here he will be meeting representatives of industrial undertakings, and conducting personal investigations in lo working conditions in factories throughout the Dominion,
