COMPENSATION ORDER
MACHINIST’S APPLICATION* GRANTED Arising out of a claim for compensation against Archbold Bros., Ltd., Christchurch, by William L. Archbold for injury by accident Incurred whilst working as a machinist for the firm, an application to terminate weekly payment by the insurers of Archbold Bros., on grounds that the injured man had recovered, was heard in the Court of Compensation before Mr Justice O’Regan yea'wflfram Archbold said he was working a squaring saw itr the factory of Archbold Bros., on March 2, 1943, when the accident happened. He lost a portion of the end joint of the right thumb. Medical evidence showed that Archbold had been advised to go back to work, and he himself said he was anxious to return to work, but said that if he did go back, the company with which ho was Insured would not cover him fully 1 for future liability if a further accident arose out of the injury. J. Leslie Will, orthopaedic surgeon. Christchurch, said he examined Archbold on September 2. and said he thought he ’should be Working. Witness said the sooner Archbold went bock to work the sooner he would get back the full use of his remaining hand. Ernest Archbold, brother of tire respondent and manager of Archbold Bros., said he wanted his brother to return to work as his firm was starving for machinists. He agreed that if his brother went back to work his cure would be hastened. . . . 4 The Judge ordered compensation to date and for four weeks more, £4 4S costs and £2 2s medical fees to be paid to the respondent, and he ordered termination of liability for compensation.
