CAIRO ART SOCIETY
NEW ZEALAND SOLDIERS EXHIBIT (Official War Correspondent N.Z.E.F.) JERUSALEM, May 4. To have pictures hung in the Cairo Salon is indeed an honour, but to be the only soldier artists to have their work selected for exhibition is a double honour shared by Kenneth Turner, of Auckland, Robin Kay, of Christchurch, and Harold Knight, of Auckland. Under the patronage of King Farouk and officially opened by Prince Mahommed, the Art Society’s exhibition is an event of the year for which the leading Egyptian. French, and Greek professors of art strive to have work selected for hanging in the Cairo Salon.
Of many soldier artists of many countries, the New Zealand trio has gained distinction with three watercolours, two pastels, and one oil. representing two examples each. The artists’ work was selected by a special committee.
