RACIAL DIFFERENCES
Sir,—ln answer to "Anglo-Saxon's" letter, one thing we-have in common with the Germans is that we are the salt of the earth and they think the same of themselves. In 800 B.C. Germanic tribes over-ran Europe, Asia Minor, and the British Isles, and by 600 B.C. they were masters of Europe, which they ruled from their Duns. That is, the period when our Celtic civilisation was at. its highest. Shortly after came the -Roman civilisation. The Romans were in Britain for more than 400 years, until the Germanic tribes were at the gates of Rome. Then we have Danes, Norsemen, and Vikings all striving to gain a foothold in Britain, until the Saxons came, and later, the Norman French.
