DEATH OF DUKE OF CONNAUGHT
♦ KING REPLIES TO MESSAGE OF SYMPATHY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, January 19. The Governor-General (Sir Cyril Newall) has received the following message in reply to the cablegram which he sent to the King expressing sympathy in the death of the Duke of Connaught:—“Please express my sincere thanks to the Government and people of New Zealand for their kind message of sympathy, which I deeply appreciate.”
