CHRISTCHURCH GUN CLUB

A successful shoot was hold by the Christchurch Gun Club on the grounds at Sockburn on Saturday afternoon. There was a large attendance from all the North Canterbury clubs, 48 taking part. Three matches, each of 10 birds, were held, and 25 prizes for each match and two special prizes were competed for. The matches were shot on the fivetrack system, off handicap marks. All possibles were shot off, competitors going back two yards after each shot. Following are the best -scores, those with possibles being set out in the order in which the shoot-off resulted: — No. 1 Match.—W. J. Patterson, G. Her, and J. F. Parkin, 10 each. No. 2 Match.—F. L. Knowles. G. Ker, R. S. Taylor, L. B. Johnson, T. Trezise, H. Cromie, T. Mawson, C. E. Brown, D. Davidson, J. Shaw, A. E. Wilson, A. P. Chamberlain, 10 each. No. 3 Match.—l. G. Watkins, J. Brightling, H. Cromie, E. Gee, R. S. Taylor. C. Chamberlain, L. C. Lemon, E. Hammond, E. Henderson, B. Sluis, 10 each. A special prize for the best aggregate score over the three matches, in which H. Cromie and R. S. Taylor tied with 29 points, resulted in Cromie winning in the shoot-off. A further special prize for the shooter with the best first barrel aggregate was won outright by L. C. Lemon. Mr L. A. Shand was referee.
