Rudkin (5), 31 points. A good increase in membership, to 432, was referred to by the president, Mr J. R. Templin, at the annual meeting of the Russley Golf Club last Wednesday. The finances were in a good position, and a credit balance was shown, although a large number of members were serving overseas or in the Dominion. A large number of outside organisations had been granted the use of the links for tournaments and matches, Mr Templin said. The splendid condition of the course reflected credit on the greenkeeper. Mr J. Hewitt. Donations of cups for competition had been made by Mr W. A. Pattison and Mrs J. Sullivan. Officers elected were;— President, Mr J. R. Templin: vice-president, Mr G. M. Hall; captain, Mr A. E. Ackroyd: ’ honorary secretary-treasurer, Mr H. A. Penn; committee, Messrs J. R. Crawshaw, G. J. Leech, V. C. Mathews. C. G. Penlington, R. L. Ronaldson, C. H. Smith, and J. Sullivan. Women’s section: captain, Miss L. V. Gates; honorary secretary, Miss G. M. Cotton; committee, Mesdamcs C. H. Clemens, W. R. Knowles, A. A. Mitchell, and A, O. Wellwood, and Miss E. A. Macfarlane. HAGLEY WOMEN’S CLUB Mrs J. E. Gudgeon and Miss M. E. Holmes tied in the A division of a Hagley women’s eclectic match. Mrs W. J. Gilchrist won the B division. Scores:— A. division: Mrs Gudgeon, 78, 14—64; Miss Holmes 82, 18—64; Mrs Pfankuch, 82. 16— 66; Mrs McAllum, 83, 17—66.
