Shirley Methodist Church. —The seventy-third anniversary of the Shirley Methodist Church was celebrated last Sunday. The morning service was taken by the Rev. W. A. Burley, president of the Methodist Conference, and the evening service by the Rev. C. H, Bell. Special music was given by the choir, the soloists being Mrs M. Price and Miss R. Emmett. The anniversary celebrations were cqntinued on Tuesday evening. A;report on the year’s activities was given by the secretary, Mr J. H. Yarn The balancesheet, presented by the treasurer, Mr W. D. Marks, showed the finances of the church to be in a satisfactory position. An appeal was made by the Rev. Raymond Dudley, on behalf of the Methodist Centennial Memorial Fund. Musical and elocutionary items were given by Mesdames E. Collins, M. Price, R. Doig, and Miss D. Caygill. The accompanist was Mrs H. Ken:. Supper was served, by members of the Women’s Guild.
