OFFICIAL FORECASTS [THE PRESS Special Service,] WELLINGTON, November 13. The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Light to fresh and variable winds, with northeriies predominating. Weather fair to cloudy. Moderate temperatures. Seas slight to moderate. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Fresh northerly winds. Weather still unsettled, with mist or fog In places, and occasional drizzle or rain. Moderate temperatures. Seas moderate to rather rough. DOMINION The Dominion forecast is:— Weather cloudy over most of the country, with further rain in Westland and scattered rain or drizzle extending to western areas as far north as the Waikato, and at times to southern and eastern areas of the South Island. Temperatures mild in north, moderate in south. An anti-cyclone is centred to the north of New Zealand, and a disturbance is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Pressure is now rising over south-eastern Australia. Winds —Mainly moderate or fresh in force, and rather variable, but directions from a westerly quarter predominating. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Rather rough to rough at times about Cook Strait, and south of Cape Egmont, otherwise slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea-Light to moderate and variable winds in the northern portion, with slight seas. Moderate to fresh winds, from between northwest and south-west in the southern portion, with moderate to rather rough seas. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather was fine and sunny yesterday with a light north-east breeze early In the day^and later a strong nor’-wester. This changed to southwest late in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 78.2 degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was overcast and a light south--1 west udnd was blowing. The tem- ! peratnre was 54 degrees.
