——♦ ORDERED TO RESIGN FROM PARTY (raass issociinoii txligsam.) WANGANUI, November 2. Cyril John Holdershaw, a carpenter, aged 23, a member of the Communist Party, who was found guilty of having stickers in his possession with a view to making or facilitating the publica'tibn of a'subversive statement, was admitted by Mr Justice Smith to probation for three years. The terms included that Holdershaw immediately nbtify the Communist Party in writing that he has now severed, and will keep severed, his connexion' with it for the period of probation; that he satisfy , the probation officer that he has given this notice,.provided . that if peace Is made between the British Empire and its enemies before .. iiie ■ period of probation, expires, this condition'.shall not continue to operate thereafter; that during the period of - probation be keep the peace and be of good' behaviour, and, in particular, that be refrain from any activity of a seditious or subversive, character.
