Answer to Correspondent “Robson,” Christchurch. —Not available here. Write to secretary of club. Box 590, Auckland. Corrected Weight Siegmund’s weight in the New Zealand Cup was stated in yesterday’s list as 8-11. This should be 8-4. First Appearance Fresh horses to race at the Geraldine meeting to-day include, the following: —Princess Minerva. Queen Beth, Raroa, Silver Don. Thermidor. Wagner, Studley Royal, Chirp, Asia, Lady Leigh, and Grey Night. Catalogue Although no definite decision regarding Catalogue’s trip to Melbourne has been reached owing to transport difficulty, it is practically certain that he will be on hand for the Melbourne Cup. F. Shean, who rode Catalogue to victory in last year’s race, has been engaged to ride him again. Catalogue has done some very attractive track work at Awapuni of late. Juveniles at Wingatui With Gold Flight. Noko, and Wild Coon Southland stables hold a strong hand in the McLean Stakes at Wingatui. In spite of a 101 b penalty Gold Flight will no doubt be the early favourite, but she will again be kept up to her task by the Riccarton ftuy Doria. Noko may be improved by his run at Ashburton, while Wild Coon has done well in recent weeks, and his first appearance .will be keenly followed.

Looking for Riders One of the minor commissions T. R. George has had in Sydney 15 to seek likely Australian boys to serve riding apprenticeships in the Dominion. George, has so far succeeded in securing two boys for his own stable, and he will also bring his former apprentice. A. W. Sim, back with him. He is now on the 'look-out for boys, for other stables. Successful Owner

It is unusual to read,of three of the first four horses in an important steeplechase carrying the colours of the'same owner, but that happened in France a few weeks ago. The race was the Grand Steeplechase of Pans, of approximately £4200, the distance being foUr miles and 70 yards. Mr Veil- Petard’s Ingre won from Un Mitrailleur. in the same ownership. Mr Veil Petard’s pther runner, Embrasseur. was fourth. The horses were not bracketed on the parimutuel, and the winner - was more fancied than his two stable companions. Big Randwick Events After the recent Tattersall’s meetingin Sydney, the following became the order of favouritism for the EpsomMetropolitan double at the A.J.C. meeting. opening on Saturday next: —Epsom Handicap: Adios; Micawber; Sedunum; Mildura. 3t. Constant, Te Hero; Nightguard. Tetreen; Bradford, Gilltown. The Metropolitan: Cooranga; Feminist, Royal Chief; Buzalong, Malagigi, Respirator; Fearless; Adios; Pantler, St. Constant, Mosaic. Saved for Stud According to a Sydney report, the veterinary surgeon, Mr R. Stewart expects that the imported stallion Cheve•ley Lad, owned by the A.J.C, committeeman. Mr' P. H. Osborne, will be saved for stud purposes, by means of ah aluminium bracket, which will be attached to and follow the action of the hind leg. Cheveley Lad, who is at Mr Osborne’s property, Tarago, broke his off hind leg late last month. He is one of the only two sons of Fairway at the stud in Australia.
