WEDDING

The wedding .was celebrated bn Thursday, at Wharanui Church, Marlborough, of Gwendoline Reay, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. W. Trolove, “The Shades,” Marlborough, and Michael Lee, second son of the late Mr Frank Dillon and of Mrs Dillon, “Leefield,” Blenheim. The bride swore a frock of pale hya-cinth-pink stiffened chiffon mounted on taffeta, and patterned in a delicate tracery of marguerites. Her matching tulle veil was held in place by a Tudor halo of. tulle and a circlet of blush pink japonica buds, and she carried pale pink hyacinths, japonica, and tree tulips. Frocks of pale pink marquisette over taffeta were worn by the bridesmaids. Miss Patricia Courage and Miss Pamela Parsons. The frocks were made with pointed yokes, heart-shaped necklines, and puffed sleeves finished with narrow bands of pink taffeta. Four graduated bands of pink taffeta trimmed the hemlines of the full-gored skirts, and the taffeta belts were fastened with flat bows. Their boqquets were composed of peach blossOm and hyacinths, and their head-dress of> bows of marquisette were finished with tiny top-knots of the blossom buds. The frock worn by the flower girl, Miss Joanna Cracroft Wilson, was a replica of those worn by the bridesmaids, and pink buds were arranged in her Jhair to match her bouquet of pink blossoms. Master Timothy Trolove attended as page boy,' wearing an Eton suit. Mr Timothy-Dillon, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr Peter Hall was groomsman. At the reception, held later, the guests were received by Mrs Troloye, who wore a navy frock patterned in scarlet, blue, and white, a navy coat, and a hat to match-finished with an eye veil. She carried scarlet camellias. Mrs Dillon wore a black suit, oyster satin blouse, and black hat trimmed with white camellias. Her bouquet was composed of freesias. * ■ SOCIAL AT PREBBLETON A pleasant evening social was held in the Parish Hall, Prebbleton, under : the auspices of the ladies’ committee to raise funds for church purposes. Card competitions were won by Mesdames H. Prebble and F. Page, Messrs J. Kennedy and R. Page. Those present were Mesdames S. Greenslade, C. Hands, F. Page, A. Page, A. Chesmir, G. Rutherford, J. McClintock, W. Downey, H. Hoff, H. Prebble, J. Giles, J. Anderson, Misses M. Carter. B. Hands, V. Wfiite, Messrs A. Giles, Lilley. R. Page, A. Chesmir, J. Hill, R. Prebble, J. Kennedy, H. Hoff, and C. Hands.
