ST. PAUL’S CHURCH
ANNUAL MEETING OF CONGREGATION The seventy-fifth annual meeting of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church was held on Wednesday,- with the minister, the Rev. Alan C. Watson, presiding. Speaking for the session, Mr A. Robb said that the year had been quite successful. There was much evidence of deep interest among the members. He referred particularly to the outstanding service given by the minister, and of, the amount of work he had been able to carry out. In the absence of the church treasurer (Mr A. O. Wilkinson), the report and balance-sheet were presented by the board’s chairman (Mr W. Rodgers), who congratulated 'members on - their generous support of the church work. There was a small debit balance in the general account. . A sum of £338 had been contributed towards the General Assembly schemes. He also spoke in praise of the effort made by the congregation for the centennial fund. Promises of £l6ll had been received, and already £364 14s 9d of this had been paid in—a most praiseworthy record. Greetings were sent to the church’s own missionary in India. Miss Jessie Hardie. who is now paying a short visit to England. To fill vacancies on the board of management, the following were elected:—Messrs E. G. Burn, A. F. Scott, D. C. Shier. A. O. Wilkinson, (reelected). and P. McCaskill, T. Penman, and Noel Wood (new members). ; Mr -Watson-reviewed ■ the ■ various reports and spoke in nnpreciation of the co-operation of members.
