CROQUET TOURNEY AT BRISBANE
FIFTEEN NEW ZEALAND ENTRANTS (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) (Received August 22, 11 p.m.) BRISBANE, August 22. Fifteen New Zealanders are among the 700 entries from most Australian states for Queensland’s biggest croquet carnival. The New Zealanders have entered individually for tournament play and as three teams New Zealand No. 1, North Island, and South Island, for the tests. The tournament winners were;— Rose bowl: R. W. McCreath, 26-13; J. Thompson. 26-10. Remainder; Mrs Nicholson, 19-6; Griffin, 26-12; Thompson, 20-17, Bagrie, 26-6; Bryant. 20-11; Brown, 18-14. Mrs Fisher’s trophy: McCreath, 26-10; Pritchard, 24-17. Losers rose bowl: Gambrill, 7-26; Palmer, 18-26.
