OBITUARY

LADY FINDLAY

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)

WELLINGTON, August 21,

Lady Findlay, widow of Sir John Findlay, Attorney-General in the Ward Administration, died this morning, aged 74. She was , a daughter of the late Mr James Arkle, of Palmerston. Wing Commander J. L. Findlay is a son.

MISS KATE KEESING One whosA association with Auckland dated back to its earliest years. Miss Kate Keesing, died on Saturday at the age of 83. She was the eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Abraham Keesing. who first settled in Auckland in 1842. During her long life she gave much public-snirited service to the city of her birth. She was a foundation member and one of the founders of the Auckland branch of the Victoria League, a member of the soldiers’ graves committee, and a generous supporter of mafiy city missions amongst the poor. She was interested in art and gave from her collection to the Auckland Museum valuable pieces of china, crystal, and ivory.

MRS I. J. GOLDSTINE The death occurred in Auckland on Sunday of Mrs I, J. Goldstine, Mayoress of One Tree Hill, aged 38 years. She was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs S. Oolomon, of New South Wales, and since her marriage 15 years ago lived in Auckland.
