• — ; KAIKOURA The annual meeting of the Kaikoura Women’s Institute was heid recently. Mrs E. Perrin (president) presided. A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of Mrs J. W. Lawson. Letters of sympathy will be sent to Mrs Sabiston in her illness and to Mrs J. A. Johnston in the illness of her sqn. , An invitation was received to *be

Mrs Ashworth reported on the . meeting of the North Canterbury Federation at Kaiapoi. The retiring presi--1 dent (Mrs Rowe), the secretary (Mrs . L. McGowan), and the treasurer (Mrs Maguire) were each presented with a I posy by Mrs Ashworth. The election of officers resulted:—-

Mclntosh, and J. Popplewell (equal).
