The preliminary meeting of students intending to take lectures this year in the new department of political science at Victoria University College, the first of its kind to be established in New Zealand, was held this week. The work of the department is to be officially inaugurated on Monday next when the head of the department, Professor L. M. Lipson, will deliver a lecture at the college. A lecturer in public administration is to be appointed shortly, and subsequently lectures in that branch of the work of the department will begin.
