STANLEY M'KAY'S "GAIETIES"
“Vaj-iety is the keynote of Stanley .McKay’s entertainments,” said Sir Harry Lauder at Wellington, commenting on the world-famous comedian’s last visit to New Zealand. It has been always the aim of Mr McKay, when lo'ctcnna his companies, to run the whole gamut of the vaudeville stage, and in his 1939 combination he has certainly succeeded. Comedy, dancing, juggling, singing, acrobatics, and pretty girls are skilfully intermingled in a show that should please all. One of the outstanding artists is Mr George Hurd, the international Royal command juggling star, whose appearances at the Alhambra Theatre, London, and Windsor Castle, before King George, Queen Mary, and the present King and Queen, are a guarantee of the quality of his work. The comedy, so essential in a revue show, is shared by Bert Le Blanc, American Jewish impersonator, and Alec McKeown, from Glasgow.
