Father Williamson has included in this book 44 short biographies of Catholics from St. Paul to G. K. Chesterton. The subjects of these biographies are so varied and come from so many lands and races that there is something iri this volume for almost any and every reader. We have the Frenchman, Ozanam; the Belgian, Hildebrand de Hemptinne; Eusebius of Caesarea; the Spaniard, Suarez; the Austrian, Mendel; the Italian, Pope Leo XIII; the Englishman, Aubrey Beardsley; "the Black Eagle of the North," Father John Murphy, and the IrishAmerican, Charles Carroll of Carrollton. The subjects and authors ■ have been well chosen and the book should prove of interest to readers of all kinds, to whatever denomination they may belong.
