The entries, at 17,684, constitute a record. There are 2000 cattle, of the approximate value of £350,000. Judging began to-day in the beef cattle sections. Mr F. Humphreys, of Gisborne, is sole judge of the Polled Herefords, and Mr H. Williams, of Gisborne, will judge the Aberdeen Angus classes. A number of junior farmers are in camp at the Show Ground, including five New Zealanders, who, in conjunction with young farmers of Australia and Britain, have submitted more than 300 entries for a magnificent display in the Agricultural Hall.
