GUESTS AT CASHMERE
HOUSE
Mrs G. G. Aitken and Mrs Llyn Lawrence arranged a most enjoyable outing for some of their tennis-playing friends, who paid a surprise visit to the home of Mr and Mrs J. F. Cracroft Wilson (Cashmere House), and played an all-day tennis tournament on their two grass courts. Picnic lunch was enjoyed under the trees, and Mrs Wilson entertained all the visitors at afternoon tea.
The winners of the tournament were Mrs Rossmore Cracroft Wilson and Mrs Gerald Gerard, with Mrs J. Montgomery and Mrs H. Greenwood as run-ners-up. Those present besides the two organisers were Mesdames J. F. Cracroft Wilson, Rossmore Cracroft Wilson, John Montgomery, Endell Wanklyn, Frank Wilding. E. G. Rhodes, H. Kitson, Gerald Anderson, Keppel Archer, Lionel Cooke, Edgar Stead, G. E. F. Kingscote. M. F. Macfarlane, Guy Cotterill, G. B. McCredie, Harold Greenwood, Gerald Gerard, Misses D. Anderson, J. Maling, and H. Herrick.
COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
Mr F. Needham entertained a number of friends and relatives at the Canberra Hall to celebrate the coming of age of his youngest daughter, Stella. The time passed pleasantly with dancing, competitions, and musical items. Music for the dancing was supplied by Frank Hobson's band and Mr Jack Williamson was master of ceremonies. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr and Mrs V. Williams and a lucky spot dance by Mr S. Haxell and Miss M. Chisnall. Two songs were ?ung by Miss Sadi Bolt and character dances were given by Misses H.
