MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Victor Regan, for being in possession of an unlicensed radio set, was convicted and fined 10s, and ordered to pay costs, lis Bd. at the Magistrates Court yesterday. For a 'similar _ offence, Albert Buckley was convicted and fined 5s and ordered to pay costs lis Bd. Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.. was on the Bench.

The quarterly meeting of the Lyttelton Licensing Committee was held yesterday. Present: Mr F. F. Reid, S.M. (chairman!, Messrs F. H. Davis, W. Wales, R. Orton Bradley. Transfers were granted as follows: Lyttelton Hotel, D. O. H. Knight to Joseph L. Purdon (Mr G. H. M. Walton); Royal Hotel, Lyttelton, D. W. F. Quested to Anthony Mason (Mr J. R. Crawford); Cave Rock Hotel. Sumner Donald Gillies to Margaret Gillies (Mr J. R. Crawford); Ocean View Hotel. Governor's Bay, John Steel to Catherine Mary Magee.
