METHODIST DISTRICT SYNOD

CANDIDATE FOR ORDINATION EXAMINED

The ministerial Synod of the North Canterbury district of the Methodist Church met yesterday morning in the Durham Street Church under the chairmanship of the Rev. Clarence Eaton, 32 ministers being present. ' In welcoming the members the chairman made reference to the death since last Synod of the Rev. F. T. Read and Mr L. M. Isitfc Letters of sympathy were sent to the relatives. The Rev. J. John, a candidate for ordination, was examined and the conference was recommended to receive him into the full ministry. The conference was also recommended to receive the Rev. H. Brown, of Hawarden, Into Trinity College, Auckland* for training.
