CANTERBURY NOTIFICATIONS

.During October there were nine deaths from tuberculosis in Canterbury. The total number of notifications for the month were 61. to which must be added seven notifications and one death (from scarlet fever) from the West Coast. For . the corresponding month of last year the Canterbury notifications totalled 55, with five deaths, and the West Coast notifications six, with four deaths.

The figures in detail for last month are as follows: —

The notifications in Canterbury last week were as follows:

Scarlet fever 6. tuberculosis 2, septic abortion 3, infantile paralysis 1, puerperal fever 2, erysipelas 1, eclampsia 1, total 16. From the West Coast there were two notifications of infectious diseases. One death occurred in Canterbury, tuberculosis being the cause.
