SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Mrs J. Temple (Highfield) left yesterday to visit her father, the Rev. | Stanley Hinson, Cashmere Hills. Mr and Mrs H. H. Hope ("Tumanako,' Wai-iti road), returned home yesterdaMrs R. Sinclair (Elizabeth street) has returned from a visit to Christchurch. '...,. Miss D. Barron ("Ranui" Grey road), who is visiting her aunt, Mrs C J. Ronaldson (Christchurch), will return to-day. Miss Barron will leave on January 31 for a visit to England. PARTY AT GREENDALE
Miss Margaret Tweed and Mr John Frew were entertained at an enjoyable party held in the Greendale sports pavilion on Wednesday evening last. The hostesses were Mesdames F. G. Early, R. McGregor, and L. H. Adam*. Games, competitions, and musical items provided the evening's entertainment. Pianoforte solos were played by Mrs P. J. Dowd, Misses L. Adams, and A. Early, and songs were sung by Mrs P. Dowd and Mr S. Stones.
Many useful gifts were presented to the guests of honour for their future home.
