For All "Press Ship" Boys This match striker is easy to make, and father would like it for a Christmas gift. Or, you might make it for our Christmas Mission or "Press Ship" Fair. . Cut out the picture printed below, and paste on to thick card-

board. Or, if you like, you may cut out any funny picture. Glue a piece of sandpaper into position, as shown in the picture. Then, at the side glue on a little holder for the matches. This can be specially made out of cardboard, or an ordinary matchbox cover can have the bottom stopped, and be glued You can make all kinds of designs in this way.

BIRDS

I love the big bush pigeon, With his orange beady eyes, And such a flap of his wings, When ere away he flies.

The tui is a handsome bird, In a coat of bluish green. When sitting on a rata tree He's the prettiest ever seen. A songster is the bell-bird, His note like the chime of bells He looks a very pretty bird Away in fairy dells.
