* Dr. W. T. Glasgow presided at the monthly meeting of the New Brighton District High School Committee. Tho headmaster. Mr F. W. Moore, reporte-i that 29 new pupils had been admitted (Main 27. South 2). and the combined rolls now stood at 644 'Main 576. South 68). Miss I. Gavan had been retained on the staff relieving until Miss Grant's return. Mr A. L. Emerson would go at the end "of the month to take charge of a school in the Southland district. All the necessary particulars for the new entrance to the high school, recently authorised, have been obtained and the work would be put in hand as soon as the Canterbury Education Board's carpenters were available.
