AMALGAMATION PROPOSAL
AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION MEETING WAIMATE TO. JOIN SOUTH j CANTERBURY Advice was received at the monthly meeting of the Automobile Association (South Canterbury) tfhat the Waimate Association had agreed to the amalgamation proposal put forward by the former organisation. It was reported to the meeting that a letter had been received from the Automobile Association (Waimate) concerning the matter and a report on the conference leading up to the amalgamation was presented, the agreement entered into by the association's delegates being confirmed. Messrs M. B. Richards R. Wilson, S. G. McClelland, and J. Palliser were appointed to attend the conference of the South Island Motor Union. It was agreed to apply for a red and orange colour route sign for the toad from Washdyke to Fairlie. Mr M. H. Richards, who is a member of the Timaru Borough Council, agreed to bring under the notice of that body a complaint concerning fixtures in the cloakroom of the Caroline Bay Hall, dissatisfaction being expressed by members who had been present' at the Automobile Association's ball recently held in the halL
