An organisation called the Dominion Athletic Club has been formed to handle the importation of men and the promotion *>f bouts will be in the hands of the New Zealand Wrestling and Athletic Club, which has branches in Wellington and other important centres. It is stated that Walker will be wrestling under the new Control, and that the first batch of men coming include Steven Savage, who made a short visit by agreement with the Dominion Wrestling Union last year. AMERICAN PROMOTER'S VISIT (PEBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, June 1. Regarded up to three years ago, when he retired from the ring, as one of the cleverest wrestlers in the world, and now a leading promoter of wrestling in the United States, Ted Thye arrived hi Auckland to-day by the Aorangi. He said he was more or less on a holiday visit, and would later go to Australia, thence to India, probably taking with him Ed "Strangler" Lewis. Thye was met in Auckland to-day by Walter Miller, agent for the American wrestlers in the Dominion. "You are reputed to be a millionaire," the interviewer said. Thye laughed. "The worst of those stories," he said, "is one is expected to live up to them —and I can't." Asked about the stories told in New Zealand of percentages from wrestlers' earnings being sent to their clubs. in America, Thye said that wrestlers had to have managers, who had to get something out of it. They were the men who made the wrestling game. New Zealand, he said, had a good organisation. The association arranged the matches and there were no petty jealousies.
