WARMER WEATHER IN MAY
HIGH MEAN TEMPERATURE RECORDED Christchurch weather in May was marked by the highest mean temperature for the month since 1931, the figure recorded being well above the normal. Fewer frosts than usual were recorded, the total being 11, of which the most severe was 6.9 degrees. Last year there were 15 frosts, of which four were more than 6.9 degrees. The rainfall for the month was 2.94 inches, while the normal for the month is 2.62 inches. The sunshine was slightly above the normal of 133.1 hours.
